Architecture of Cloud Computing

According to HCL Technologies, the architecture of the cloud refers to the various components that include applications, databases and other software capabilities. This is done so that the cloud may have enough power to solve business problems. Other than that cloud technology defines components as well as their relationships.

The purpose of the entire cloud architecture is to provide users with the maximum bandwidth, seamless connections from one cloud to another or even servers, uninterrupted access to files and content and most important of all, network security.

There are many cloud-based services and many of them use unique cloud architectures, for example:

·      SaaS (Software as a Service)

Provides software over the internet (cloud) so that users can access them but don’t have to install them locally on a machine.

·      DaaS (Development as a Service)

This service involves the development tools to be available and accessible to other developers.

·      PaaS (Platform as a Service)

This service provides users to obtain platforms and databases which is equivalent to middleware services.

·      IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service)

This provides for infrastructure and hardware such as servers, networks, storage devices that run in the cloud and users are given access to it on pay per use basis.

Mainly only three types of cloud architectures are used which are SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.
